There’s Still Time To Be Counted For 2010 Census
The mail-back phase of the 2010 Census may be coming to a close, but there’s still time for residents to make sure they’re counted.
To date, Harris County’s mail participation rate of 66 percent sits just behind the state’s average of 67 percent and the national participation rate of 71 percent. While the county is on track to exceed its total 2000 Census participation rate of 67 percent, there is still ample opportunity to achieve a complete count.
Households may submit their information by phone via the Census Bureau’s toll-free Telephone Questionnaire Assistance Center until July 30. However, those who phone in their information should still expect a visit from a Census worker, beginning in May.
