Summer Fashion Event To Benefit American Heart Association

May 17, 2010

On May 19, the hottest ticket in town (and the best deal) will be the Village Arcade Shopping Center’s inaugural Red Hot Summer fashion show, where Houston trendsetters will chill out with a cool cocktail to get a glimpse at this season’s latest warm-weather must-haves at BamBou Lounge in Rice Village from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The show will highlight the latest summer looks from Banana Republic, Chico’s, Em & Lee, Everything but Water, Gap, Gap Body, Gap Kids, Gymboree, Hemline, JoAnn’s, Juliet & Romeo Couture, Soma, Talbots, and White House Black Market.

Tickets are $30 each and include two drinks and sample gourmet foods from some of Village Arcades’ restaurants. The show benefits the American Heart Association (AHA) and its many programs, including the organization’s highly successful Go Red For Women movement to educate women about heart disease and stroke prevention.

Presenting sponsor is Weingarten Realty Investors, owner of the Village Arcade, which is currently home to 32 retailers, 14 restaurants and three spa/salons.

“Weingarten is proud to host an event that not only highlights the great fashions, food and spaces that our tenants at Village Arcade have to offer but also benefits such an important cause–the American Heart Association,” said Jennifer Massey, Weingarten marketing specialist.

“All revenue from ticket sales benefits AHA, so we’re hoping for a huge turn-out for what promises to be a fun event for everyone,” she said.

“This is the second time the American Heart Association has partnered with Weingarten on a fashion show for our organization.  Our supporters love it, and we make new friends and build awareness of our important mission … all while having a great night out,” said President of the AHA Guild and popular fashion blogger and Houston marketing Consultant Roz Pactor.

Local celebrity, Rebecca Spera, host of the television show “Mirror/Mirror” will serve as the show’s emcee.
