State Rep. Sarah Davis Receives Patient Care Champion Award
The Harris County Medical Society recently honored State Rep. Sarah Davis with the Patient Care Champion Award.
The award is presented to individuals that show a dedication to the health of Texans and the advancement of physicians and health care entities.
“I am honored to have received this recognition from the HCMS, but as a cancer survivor, I know the real patient care champions are the health care providers in the Texas Medical Center and all over our great state,” Davis said.
Davis was appointed to serve on the public health committee during the 82nd Legislative Session. Hearing over 180 pieces of legislation, Davis and the committee vetted many bills impacting organized medicine.
With over 10,000 physician and medical student members, the Harris County Medical Society is the largest county medical society in the United States. The society was founded in 1903 and is the primary professional organization for Harris County physicians.
Davis represents West University Place, Bellaire, River Oaks, Braeswood Place, Southside Place, portions of Meyerland and Montrose and the Texas Medical Center.
