Southside Place’s Winter Wonderland Carnival is Saturday
The City of Southside Place is hosting a winter carnival on Saturday, Dec. 1.
The event, called Frost Bank’s Winter Wonderland, will be held at Fire Truck Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public.
“It’s a new tradition for the community and we hope everyone comes,” Carnival Co-Chair JC Al-Uqdah said.
The residents of Southside Place recently rallied together to raise funds for Fire Truck Park and the proceeds from the winter carnival will also benefit the park.
The event features pictures with the John Daugherty Santa, a gourmet hot chocolate bar, infalatables, confetti eggs, a mechanical bull, face painting, a balloon artist, carnival games and a climbing wall. There will also be a bazaar and a live auction, which includes naming rights to one of the streets by the park.
There will also be snow at the event and kids will be able to have a snowball fight and build mini snowmen at the carnival.
Wristbands are available now for $20, which includes entry to all of the rides. Tickets will be available for food, drinks and confetti eggs at the event.
The carnival is being chaired by JC Al-Uqdah and Sue Sim. To purchase wristbands, contact JC at 713-594-2726 or Sue at 713-922-0881.
