Six Hundred Plates Of Brisket Sold At West U. Rotary Barbeque
The West U. Rotary raised $3,200 at the annual 4th of July Barbeque, selling 600 plates of brisket in less than three hours. The Randalls grocery store at Weslayan and Bissonnet donated 400 hot dogs and 300 lbs. of brisket for the fundraiser.
Half of the money will go to the West U. Little League Challenger team, to help pay for the team’s trip to the Little League World Series in August. The other half will be donated to the American Cancer Society to be used for breast and prostate cancer research.
The Rotary also put up 1,446 flags for the holiday, as well as handing out 80 subscription forms at the barbeque.
