Shepherd School of Music Concerts Celebrate Rice’s Centennial Year

Faculty recitals and concerts are among the following performances scheduled to celebrate Rice University’s centennial year. All events are in Alice Pratt Brown Hall. Unless otherwise noted, admission is free and no tickets are required.

Oct. 6: Replica of Kneisel Quartet’s Concert at Rice’s founding ceremonies. 3 p.m.

Oct. 7: SYZYGY, New Music at Rice: “In Celebration of William Bolcom.” 3 p.m.

Oct. 14: Faculty recital by the Fischer Duo. 2 p.m.

Admission is free, but tickets are required. For tickets, call 713-348-8000.

This performance will be preceded by “The Shepherd School of Music: A Retrospective,” a discussion with Shepherd School Dean Robert Yekovich and current composition faculty at 12:30 p.m.

Oct. 15: Shepherd School Chamber Orchestra Concert. 8 p.m.
