Several People Witness Man Breaking Into Motor Vehicle

Several people witnessed a black man trying to break into a vehicle with a screwdriver in the 4200 block of Villanova on May 4.

The man used the screwdriver to break into the passenger side window of the vehicle. The window shattered and he was scared away.

Police searched the area, but did not find the suspect.

Witnesses said they saw two black men driving a dirty light green Ford expedition, acting as solicitors prior to the incident.

On May 3, a car was broken into in the 2700 block of Sunset and loose change was taken. The owner of the vehicle told police that it looked like someone had been rummaging around in the car.

On May 3, a satellite receiver was stolen out of a vehicle in the 2800 block of Nottingham.

On May 3, a resident reported to police that someone used their personal information to make checks, which they used to make fraudulent purchases.

On May 5, a front door of a home in the 3700 block of Albans was forced open. Police searched the home, but did not find any burglars inside.

On May 8, a resident reported his wallet missing in the 4200 block of Bellaire.
