December 6, 2012

The River Oaks Baptist School is mourning the loss of School Nurse Deborah Crump, who was killed in a vehicle/pedestrian accident on Wednesday night.

Crump was struck by a vehicle when she and her husband were walking to their car in the 4300 block of S. MacGregor.

According to reports, a vehicle struck Crump when they started to cross the street.

“The River Oaks Baptist community is greatly saddened by the loss of Deborah Crump, our beloved school nurse.  Deborah tended to the needs of our students, their parents, and her colleagues for 14 years.  She loved working closely with our students, and our priority right now is to take care of them.  Counselors and pastoral staff are available on campus to provide counseling and support for our children and co-workers.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Deborah’s family and friends during this most difficult time.  We take comfort in our confidence that Deborah is with God, and that He is in our midst, even on our darkest days,” the school said in a statement.
