Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music to Perform Holiday Concerts

Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music will be performing holiday concerts and performances before the end of the fall semester.

The following concerts are free unless otherwise noted and are open to the public.

Nov. 28-29 at 8: p.m. at the Edythe Bates Old Recital Hall: “Glorious Music for Chorus and Organ for the Season of Winter/Advent/Christmas,” featuring the Rice Chorale.

Dec. 1-2 at 8 p.m. at the Stude Concert Hall: Shepherd School Chamber Orchestra concert.

Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Grand Foyer: “Spirit of the Season: A Special Shepherd Society Holiday Event.” Friend ticket, $350; sponsor ticket, $500; friend table (10 guests), $3,500; sponsor table (10 guests), $5,000. For tickets, call 713-348-3492 or e-mail theshepherdsociety@rice.edu.

Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. at the Duncan Recital Hall: Shepherd School of Music Faculty Recital with Robert Moeling on piano.

Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. at the Stude Concert Hall: Houston Friends of Chamber Music, featuring the American String Quartet and Shepherd School faculty member James Dunham on viola. Admission: $19-$85. For tickets, call 713-348-5400.
