Rice cancer patient’s friends want him on ‘Ellen’
Supporters hope a Rice University student who has been battling cancer for the last six years will have a chance to bring his message about pediatric cancer funding to a national audience.
James Ragan was diagnosed with bone cancer at 13 that has since spread to his lungs, liver and other organs. The Houston Chronicle wrote a profile Tuesday about Ragan’s efforts to “save the next guy” through fundraising and spreading awareness about pediatric cancer funding. Ragan is the impetus behind the Triumph Over Kid Cancer Foundation, which has given roughly $750,000 for cancer research.
