Residents Can Trash Bulky Items This Saturday
The city invites residents to get rid of big, bulky items on Saturday that can’t be trashed on normal garbage days.
Heavy Trash Day is Oct. 31 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Works facility, 3826 Milton St. City staff will help unload vehicles, but anyone throwing away items must bring proof that they are West U. residents.
Residents can dispose of almost anything except hazardous waste. If any items have Freon, like fridges and air conditioners, residents must provide a certificate indicating the Freon was removed.
Goodwill will be there to accept usable items, except for beds or bedding of any kind. The city will recycle any computers, cell phones, and printers and printer cartridges.
For more information, call Public Works at (713) 662-5839.
