Residents And Their Pets Welcome At Grand Opening Of Natural Pawz
Natural Pawz will celebrate their grand opening from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Whole Foods-anchored shopping center in the 4000 block of Bellaire Boulevard.
The grand opening will include pet obedience demonstrations at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., cookie “bones” for pet owners who bring their pets, and the Houston Humane Society will have adoptable pets available.
Whole Foods Market is joining the celebration with a band and free samples in their “Taste of the Season” in the parking lot all day long.
Attendees will include Bob Fry, mayor pro-tem of West U., Michael Ross, West U. city manager, Dee Ullrich, president of the West U. Rotary, Dave Wallace, former mayor of Sugar Land and Joanne Herring, who was portrayed by Julia Roberts in the movie “Charlie Wilson’s War.”
The West U. location is the fourth in the chain of locally owned “heath food” stores for pets.
Owners Biff Picone and Nadine Jolie-Coeur say they plan to open an additional four stores in 2009.
“We love being part of our great pet community,” said Jolie-Coeur. “We donated a year’s worth of food for the Houston Humane Society’s Gala, we are a strong supporter of BARC, SNAP and other local rescue groups and are happy to support organizations that make Houston a better place for our four-footed friends.”
Natural Pawz only carries “human grade” quality pet foods and treats that are sourced and manufactured in the U.S.
