Prince’s is New Colonial Pool Concessionaire
Prince’s Hamburgers will be serving up food to West U residents at Colonial Park Pool this summer.
The West U City Council has approved the hamburger joint as their new concessionaire for the pool, which opens April 6.
The city went out for bids in February after their concessionaire of two years, the Edloe St. Café, decided not to renew their contract. Prince’s was the only restaurant that submitted a bid to the city and their contract was approved by council on Monday night.
“We think they’ll be an excellent partner,” Parks and Recreation Director Tim O’Connor said.
O’Connor said that Prince’s will provide whatever foods the customer wants, whether it’s a pulled pork sandwich or pizza by the slice.
According to Prince’s application, some of the items they are proposing include hamburgers/cheeseburgers, turkey burgers, garden burgers and salads, amongst many other items.
John Broussard, owner of Prince’s Hamburgers, told InstantNewsWestU.com that they are looking forward to being the new concessionaire for Colonial Pool.
“We’re excited about it,” he said. “We’re looking forward to it.”
The new concessionaire has a contract for one season with an option to renew annually for a total of two additional seasons.
