Presbyterian School Team Takes First At Academic Decathlon
An academic decathlon team from Presbyterian School recently received first place in the Southeast Texas Academic Challenge, which tested students on depth of knowledge and speed of recalling answers.
The Southeast Texas Academic Challenge was held Feb. 20 at the John Cooper School in the Woodlands for 20 high school, 6 Junior Varsity, and 13 middle school teams. The winning team from Presbyterian School included eighth graders, Connor Albert, Justin Bernard, Arin Drtil, Andrew Jacobs, Hannah Luedke and Andrew McCulloch.
During the contest, students had to respond to questions from a variety of categories including science, math, history, current events, and more.
All three Presbyterian School teams qualified for the middle school playoffs, a single-elimination contest. Presbyterian School’s first place decathlon team is now invited to compete at the National Academic Championship in New Orleans on May 29 to 31.
