Police Search For Pranksters Breaking Car Windows

December 30, 2009

West U. police are searching for one or more pranksters who crossed the line of the law last week by using some type of projectile to break multiple car windows in the same area of West University Place.

Three residents on Dec. 22 and one more on Dec. 23 reported that someone damaged the rear windows of their vehicles. The criminal mischief incidents happened in the 6100 block of Wakeforest Street, 2600 and 2700 blocks of Barbara Lane and the 2600 block of Pemberton Drive.

West U. Lt. Charlie Deily said each window was shattered, but still intact. Police could see a central point of impact, as if someone used a projectile to damage the windows. He said the damage could have come from a pellet gun, slingshot or even a rock thrown by hand.

“I don’t think there’s going to be much in the way of evidence,” said Deily. “If anyone saw anything or heard anything, that would be great — Give us a call.”

Anyone with information can call (713) 668-0330.
