Police Report Five Burglaries Of A Motor Vehicle
The West U. Police Department reported four burglaries of a motor vehicle and one attempted burglary of a motor vehicle for the week of Sept. 20 through Sept. 28.
On Sept. 21, around 2:50 p.m., an officer responded to the 4100 block of Marquette in response to a burglary of a motor vehicle that has already occurred. The front driver’s side window was broken, and the owner’s purse and cell phone were missing.
On Sept. 25, a car was broken into in the 4200 block of Bellaire while two children were inside the car. The driver left her two children in the car, with the doors unlocked, and her purse in the front seat. She walked about 100 feet to a soccer field to pick up her daughter, and heard her other two children crying. She returned to the car, and her children told her a man took her purse from the front seat and drove off.
On Sept. 26 a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported at the police station. The victim says her car was unlocked, and several items were stolen.
Also on Sept. 26, a car was broken into and property stolen in the 4100 block of Byron, and in the same block a woman told police her car was broken into but no property stolen.
A man attempting to get permission to pass out flyers in the city ended up under arrest after police discovered he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Houston.
The owner of a vacant rental property in the 4200 block of S. Judson reported vandalism to his property, including broken windows and a damaged air conditioning unit, on Sept. 22.
On Sept. 23 at 8:24 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious person complaint in the 4000 block of Bellaire Blvd. The suspect, an Asian male, told officers he had no identification. Officers eventually found a driver’s license, multiple credit cars and multiple checks in his pocket, all which belonging to an Asian female, in the suspect’s wallet. He also has a checkbook in his back pocket, which belonged to a Hispanic male. The officer contacted the woman, who said her purse was stolen a few weeks earlier, and the items in the suspect’s wallet were all stolen. The man was arrested.
A resident came to the police department Sept. 23 to report that an unknown person passed to forged checks in her name in Plano. The woman told police she has never been to Plano.
A driver in the 5900 block of Westchester was arrested after being pulled over for a brake light that was out around 7:56 a.m. Sept. 24. The driver has no driver’s license or insurance, and was taken into custody.
A man was taken into custody for public intoxication around 4:16 p.m. Sept. 25 in the 4000 block of Tennyson. The suspect was in the road carrying a suitcase and stumbling towards the curb. The suspect became agitated and refused to follow the officer’s commands, and was taken into custody.
