Police Arrest Two For DWI, One After Car Accident
Police arrested two drivers in West University Place last week after finding they were driving while intoxicated. In one case, the driver had just been in a car accident.
Both arrests happened Feb. 11. In the first case around 1:40 a.m., an officer saw a car that was parked half on the sidewalk, half in the street at the intersection of Buffalo Speedway and Rice Boulevard. The officer conducted field sobriety tests on the driver, Jeffrey Krakowiak, and determined the 23-year-old man was drunk. Police arrested Krakowiak and charged him with driving while intoxicated.
Police made the second DWI arrest after responding to a minor car accident at Buffalo Speedway and Wroxton. An officer smelled alcohol coming from one driver, Angelica Esmeralda, 33, and conducted a field sobriety tests. When she failed the test, Esmeralda was arrested and charged with DWI.
