Officer Finds Crack Pipe During Traffic Stop
An officer on Oct. 9 found a glass crack pipe during a traffic stop in the 4100 block of Bissonnet Street. The officer also found drugs, and arrested and charged the person with possession of a controlled substance.
A couple burglaries occurred during the week of Oct. 4 to 12. The first happened on Oct. 6 in the 3900 block of Milton Street where someone smashed a vehicle’s rear window and took a woman’s purse. The second happened on Oct. 10 in the 2700 block of Rice Boulevard. The victim said someone stole lawn equipment from his detached garage.
During the week, two residents reported they were the victims of fraud. One victim said on Oct. 7 that he found suspicious charges on his credit card, and another resident said on Oct. 9 that someone used his social security number to open a Sprint phone account.
Two residents reported that someone damaged their vehicles. On Oct. 4, a woman called police because someone caused minor damage to her vehicle in the 3800 block of Rice Boulevard. On Oct. 10, a resident said he had parked his car on the street in front of his house, and returned later to find a dent in the hood on the driver’s side.
Other incidents included:
Police arrested a man on Oct. 4 for public intoxication after finding him asleep in a truck in the 3600 block of Nottingham Street. When the officer woke the man up, he “had slurred speech, red glossy eyes, and was unsteady on his feet,” according to the police report.
On Oct. 4, police visited the Houston Southeast Command Station to pick up a prisoner who had an outstanding warrant in West University Place. The officer booked the man into the West U jail.
On Oct. 7, an officer pulled over a black pickup in the 6300 block of Buffalo Speedway because the truck had a broken light above the license plate. The officer arrested the driver, who had a suspended driver’s license and four previous arrests for the same offense.
