New Director Of Children’s Ministries Named At St. Luke’s
Other than a few detours to College Station, Dallas, Wyoming and Dubai, Julie Ellerbrock has been a Houston resident for most of her life. A resident of Meyerland since 1991, Ellerbrock joined the staff of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church as director of children’s ministries on Aug. 1. In this position, she will oversee staff and volunteers associated with the care and teaching of nursery-age children through 5th grade, including St. Luke’s Day School.
Ellerbrock’s experience includes 12 years of service as a teacher and director of Westbury Methodist Day School. Additionally, she has served seven years on the Early Childhood Methodist Conference Committee, including two years as General Chairperson. E has also served Bellaire United Methodist Church as a volunteer teacher in Sunday School classes with two-year-olds through eighth graders.
Ellerbrock and husband of 22 years, Bill Ellerbrock, have two children. Taylor, a recent graduate of Bellaire High School, will attend Texas A&M this fall and Cole will be a sophomore at Strake Jesuit.
“I cherish the enthusiasm of children, and feel the same way about my new position at St. Luke’s. I am looking forward to building new relationships with children, families and the community as I begin this exciting new adventure,” said Ellerbrock.
