More Details Released about West U Officer’s Collision
More details have been released about a collision between a West U police officer and another vehicle.
According to a police report obtained through a public information request, Officer Jessica Ly was responding to a call on Jan. 9 around 10 p.m. when she was struck by another vehicle.
Ly was driving westbound on Bissonnet through the intersection at Weslayan with her emergency siren and lights activated when her patrol vehicle was struck. The driver of the vehicle, a 68-year-old West U resident, said she had a green light and heard sirens but did not see anything, according to the report.
The police offer was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for a possible injury, the report said.
