Traffic Violations

At 8:19 a.m., an officer observed a white vehicle traveling northbound in the 6400 block of Belmont with a paper tag.  The officer turned around on the vehicle to observe the paper tag to see if it was valid. When the vehicle stopped at the intersection of Duke and Wakeforest (eastbound), the driver failed to stop at the designated stopping point (a marked white line on the roadway). The vehicle was stopped in the 6300 block of Wakeforest. The driver advised that he did not have a driver’s license or insurance on the vehicle. The driver was arrested for the traffic violations. The front seat and rear passengers claimed to not have any form of identification.  Both passengers were held for identification to insure that the names and date of births were valid and there were not outstanding warrants for either. The two passengers were released with no charges. All three subjects had extensive criminal histories for drug related offenses and burglary.
