MLK Day Parade And Children’s Events
As a half million spectators watch one of the largest Martin Luther King, Jr. parades in the nation on Monday, the Houston Children’s Museum will also help celebrate the peace leader’s legacy.
The 16th Annual MLK Grande Parade on Jan. 18 will begin at 10 a.m., winding through 2.5 miles of downtown Houston with 20 parade floats and a whopping 45 marching bands. The parade will also air on national and international television. For more information, visit the MLK Grande Parade Website.
A couple hours later, the Children’s Museum is hosting a family-friendly peace rally at noon that will include a march and inspirational speech followed by refreshments. Participants can write down their dreams on paper and add them to the museum’s “Dream Wall.” For more information, visit the museum’s Website.
