Marquis II: A Fight, Two Public Intoxication Charges And A Damaged Car

West U. police were called by the Houston Police Department to a fight near the Marquis II bar around 9 p.m. Nov. 25. When West U. police arrived, HPD officers were detaining several suspects. One of the suspects was arrested by West U. police for public intoxication.


An officer was flagged down at the Marquis II bar in the 2600 block of Bissonnet around 2 a.m. Nov. 26 regarding a minor accident in which the other driver didn’t stop. The officer met with the victim, and viewed the damage to the car.


A man who appeared to be sleeping in his car around 1:52 a.m. Nov. 27 in the parking lot of the Marquis II bar in the 2600 block of Bissonnet was arrested by West U. police for public intoxication.


A clerk from a store in the 5800 block of Kirby reported a shoplifting incident to West U. Police around 7 p.m. Nov. 23. The incident is under investigation.


A driver pulled over for expired registration was arrested around 12:44 a.m. Nov. 24. The driver’s license proved to be expired, and not clear due to a failure to appear. The driver’s car was inventoried and towed.


A built-in television was stolen from an unlocked car between 6 p.m. Nov. 23 and 7 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 3400 block of Carnegie.


An officer on patrol around 10:43 p.m. Nov. 24 noticed two people sitting inside a car in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Bissonnet. When the officer approached the car, he smelled burning marijuana according to reports. A search was performed, and police say a small bag of marijuana was found in the center console. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.


A driver in the 3800 block of University Boulevard was arrested after being pulled over for defective equipment around 12:55 a.m. Nov. 25. The driver ended up under arrest for possession of marijuana.


The owner of a vacant resident undergoing remodeling reported to police on Nov. 25 that copper electrical wiring from the attic and copper tubing for the air conditioning system had been stolen. The theft could have taken place any time in the two weeks leading up to the report.


A bicycle was reported stolen from an unsecured garage on Nov. 25 in the 6400 block of Community. The resident told police that the bike could have been stolen any time in the previous two weeks.


A driver traveling westbound in the 3600 block of Sunset around 6:43 p.m. Nov. 25 was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a prohibited weapon after being pulled over for defective equipment.


West U. police were alerted to a car entering the city limits at the 6700 block of Buffalo Speedway around 3:30 a.m. Nov. 29 without headlights on. An officer from Southside Place followed the car until WUPD pulled the vehicle over in the 3100 block of Westpark. According to reports, the driver was a minor under the influence of alcohol and the passenger was a minor in possession of alcohol. Bother were cited and released to a parent.


An employee of a store in the 5400 block of Kirby called police Nov. 29 on suspicion of credit card fraud. The employee told police that a woman could not show identification when asked, and the card was refused multiple times. The woman left, and said she would return later to pay with cash.
