Man Arrested for Not Using Sidewalk

Possession of drug paraphernalia
At 9:30 am, an officer observed a passenger vehicle traveling in the 4200 block of Bissonnet with an expired safety inspection certificate, 02/13. A traffic stop was conducted in the 3900 block of Northwestern and after further investigation the driver was issued citations for possession of drug paraphernalia, minor in possession of tobacco, and expired inspection.

Theft
At 3:20 pm, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police department in reference to a theft that had already occurred. Upon the officer’s arrival, the complainant stated an unknown person removed his white button down shirt from the men’s locker room area located inside the West University place recreational center.

Traffic Violations
An officer observed a vehicle traveling with no front license plate 3500 block of Rice. The officer initiated a traffic stop and upon further investigation discovered that the operator was in possession of a fake motor vehicle inspection sticker. The operator was arrested and charged with fictitious/altered motor vehicle inspection sticker.

Lost Property
At 4:24 pm, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to a case of lost property. The complainant stated she lost her Texas driver’s license sometime between 11/1/13 at 8:30 pm and 11/2/13 at 4:30 pm.

11/09/2013
Driving while license suspended
At 3:37 pm, an officer observed a passenger vehicle traveling southbound in the parking lot of jack in the box, located in the 3900 block of Bellaire Blvd, towards the exit at Bellaire Blvd without a registration certificate attached to the inside of the front windshield. A traffic stop was conducted in the 4000 block of Bellaire Blvd and after further investigation the driver was arrested for the offense of driving while license invalid.

Burglary of habitation
An officer was dispatched to a burglary of a habitation that had already occurred in the 2800 block of Robinhood. The officer arrived and met with the reportee who stated that sometime between 7:30 hours and 4:30 hours on 11/8/13 an unknown suspect(s) entered his residence and removed personal items without his effective consent. The officer collected information and evidence and completed a report.

11/10/2013
Burglary of motor vehicle
At 3:56 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 6100 block of Lake in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. The complainant stated and unknown person(s) damaged his driver’s side door lock, made entry in to the vehicle, and removed a black backpack containing an apple Ipad.

11/11/2013
Burglary of motor vehicle
At 3:50pm, an officer was dispatched to the 3700 block of University in regards to a burglary of a vehicle that had already occurred. The victim’s passenger side window was shattered and a gym back was taken from the passenger floor board. No suspects were located at this time and this case is still under investigation.

Theft
Officers responded to a theft that occurred in the 6500 block of Westchester Ave. The reporting person advised at 3:00 pm they returned home and observed a package, shipped by UPS, at the front door. They went to retrieve the property at 4:30pm and observed it missing.

11/12/2013
Failure to stop and give information
An officer was dispatched to the 5800 block of Kirby in regards to an FSGI that already occurred on 11/11/2013 in a private parking lot. The victim stated the business dumpsters were being replaced by the disposal company and accidentally hit his vehicle with the dumpster.

Theft
Officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Tangley in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the area. The witness observed the driver of the vehicle toss an empty box into a parked vehicle. Upon investigation, it was discovered the box was stolen from the 3700 block of Arnold.

Not walking on sidewalk
At 5:37 p.m., officers responded to a possible theft in progress at the intersection of Plumb and Auden. A subject was observed entering a house under construction, and leaving with a bag full of unknown item(s). The subject was observed leaving on a bike traveling northbound on Auden. The subject was located and charged with standing in the roadway while sidewalk provided.

Theft
At 7:31 pm, an officer was dispatched to 5300 Kirby in reference to a theft that already occurred. The reportee stated a subject entered the store and took items without paying.

Burglary of motor vehicle
Officers responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle that occurred in the 5600 block of Kirby drive. It was reported that in between the hours of 5:00pm and 10:00pm the victim’s vehicle was burglarized with several items missing.
