Magna Award

At its 69th annual conference in San Diego, the National School Board Association presented a Magna Award to Houston Independent School District trustees Manuel Rodriguez, Carol Mims Galloway, Harvin Moore and HISD Chief Academic Officer Karen Garza.  The board was recognized for the district’s ASPIRE Educational-Improvement Model.  The district was selected as a first place winner in the American School Board Journal’s 15th annual Magna Awards program.
