TONIGHT ONLY: West U Candidates to Square Off at Live Forum

April 23, 2013

Your five candidates for West U City Council will square-off TONIGHT at’s Candidate Forum.

The five candidates that want to represent you are Friends of West U Parks Board Member Sonny Brandtner, Councilman Dick Yehle, Councilwoman Joan Johnson, Mayor Pro Tem Susan Sample and Councilman Ed Heathcott.

Think you taxes are too high (or too low)? Want to buy more parkland or do we have enough parks already? Tired of people putting out trash early or parking on the sidewalk? Is it time to sell the recycling center to a real estate developer or should we continue to operate the recycling center at a loss as a public service? What do the candidates think?

Each candidate has a different vision of West U’s future. Each has different ideas on how to get there. These candidates want your vote. Ask them questions. You’re the boss, and they’re applying for a job.

6 PM: Come to the West U Community Center, 6104 Auden, at 6 p.m. for food and questions with the candidates. Food will be provided by Prince’s Hamburgers.

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM: The gloves come off. The candidates will try to convince you they deserve your vote.

The forum is being hosted by University Essentials magazine.
