Little League Carnival to “Go Green”
The West University Little League will kick off its 2014 Season with its Opening Day Ceremony and Carnival on Saturday, March 1.
The Carnival will begin directly after Opening Ceremonies, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and will take place in front of West University Elementary in the 3700 block of University Blvd. The “Go Green” Carnival is an annual event that is eagerly anticipated by all players and their families. From giant inflatables, a rock wall, and dozens of games, to the ever-popular confetti eggs, there will be something for all ages to enjoy.
Thanks to the generosity of Cadence Bank, the Carnival’s Grand Sponsor, the event is free and open to the public.
James Coney Island will serve hot dogs and hamburgers to those who pre-purchased meal tickets. A wide variety of lunch items will also be available for purchase that day, along with an array of sweet treats from local merchants. In addition to fun for the kids, adults can shop many local retail vendors at the Bazaar.
Co-Chairs of this year’s event — Michele Carlin, Catherine Rentz, Monica Moursund and Jennifer Dellinger — encourage families to come out and join in the festivities, and guarantee a fun-filled day for all.
