Lincoln Logs, Rubik’s Cubes And Etch A Sketch Make A Comeback At The Children’s Museum

Take a trip down memory lane with the Children’s Museum “Blast from the Past WonderWeek,” taking place July 24-30. Parents can show their children what ‘playing’ meant when they were growing up, with classic games, toys and experiments from previous decades. Museum representatives encourage visitors to dress up in attire from their favorite era and visit the museum’s life-size robotic droids.

Exhibits featured at the museum include Lincoln Logs, Pet Rock, Mr. Potato Head Pictures and Workings of Classic Toys, where visitors can discover how popular toys such as the Rubik’s Cube, Slinky and Etch A Sketch work.

Droids built by a local Droid Builders Group will be at the museum from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. . July 26. The KID TV Exhibit will feature a “blast from the past” trivia game at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. July 26 and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. July 27.

The museum is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday noon-6 p.m. Thursday is free family night from 5-8 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, $4 for seniors 65+.
