Light Crime in West U

Identity Theft
At 12:00 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the police station lobby, 3800 University Blvd, in regard to a fraud that already occurred. Upon arrival, the victim stated an unknown person(s) opened a Verizon Wireless account using his information.

Police Information Report
At 9:05 am, an officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire in regards to a terroristic threat. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim who stated there was disturbing voicemails from an employee who was recently terminated. The officer listened to the voicemails and heard several violent threats towards other employees and their family member. The information was collected for a report and logged into evidence. The victim only wanted to advise the police department of the situation and refused to press charges.

Traffic Violations / Warrant
A traffic stop was conducted in the 6100 block of Wakeforest by a West University Place Police Officer in a marked patrol unit. During the traffic stop it was discovered that the driver of the suspect vehicle had an outstanding warrant with Harris County Constable Precinct 3. The driver was subsequently arrested for traffic violations and a hold was placed for the warrant.

Burglary of motor vehicle
An officer, was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department lobby, in reference to a lapsed Burglary of Motor Vehicle. The officer arrived and found that an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a vehicle taking personal property without the owner’s permission, while it was parked in the 4100 block of Bellaire.

Driving while license suspended
At 11:09 pm, an officer observed a vehicle travelling northbound in the 5300 block of Buffalo Speedway, with defective equipment, namely no taillights activated as required. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in the 5200 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was driving while license invalid. The driver was arrested for the offense.
