Lamar Wins FIRST Robotics Regional Competition (with photo)

With more than 63 high schools from all around Texas participating in the FIRST Robotics Lone Star Regional competition held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Lamar High School’s Robotic team, along with their partnering teams from Grand Prairie and Mississippi, won the Regional in this year’s competition.

The Lamar Robotics team was also the only team to win three awards, which included the Judges Award, the Website Award, and Champions Award at the recent Lone Regional competition. Due to their big win, Lamar’s Robotics team is now the only Houston Independent School District school qualified to participate in the Championship event in Atlanta, GA, scheduled April 16 – 18, and compete with more than 380 teams from 20 different countries.
