Lamar High School Class of 2010 Valedictorian
Zuhdi Abdo is a product of Briargrove Elementary and Grady Middle Schools. He lists his favorite subject as mathematics, and his hobbies as weightlifting, carpentry, and playing football. He plans to major in medicine at Rice University, from which he has already received various merit scholarships.
Abdo is a member of the National Honor Society, the football team, the Ultimate Frisbee Club, the German Club, and Mu Alpha Theta (a math honor society). He also participated in the German American Partnership Program (a foreign student exchange), and he placed in the 85th percentile on the German National Exam.

To-Nhu (Leslie) Nguyen attended Twain Elementary School and T. H. Rogers
before moving on to Lamar High School. Her favorite subject there is mathematics, and she plans to major in chemical engineering at Rice University.
Nguyen is a National Merit Finalist and played on the All-District volleyball team. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Environmental Club, the Ultimate Frisbee team, the American Field Service Club, and Amnesty International. She also took part in University Interscholastic League science activities. In her spare time, she enjoys running, yoga, tie-dying, and photography.
