It’s the largest number from Lamar High School that has earned International Baccalaureate diplomas, ranking Lamar as one of the top 10 schools in the nation churning out students in the rigorous academic program.

The International Baccalaureate Programme promotes responsible global citizenship, provides intercultural awareness to all members of the school community, and focuses on academic excellence while stressing the importance of synthesizing knowledge gained both in and out of the classroom.

The program is the most rigorous academic pathway offered at Lamar High School. Students experience a world-class education through a balanced two-year curriculum that is comprehensive and standardized worldwide.  Twenty-four countries accept the IB as undeniable proof of a quality pre-university education.

Some of the colleges and universities the recipients currently attend are Harvard, Yale, Rice, Northwestern, Georgetown, and more.
