Jesuit Seniors Will Continue Athletic Careers In College
Two Jesuit seniors announced that they will be continuing their athletic careers in college.
James Garcia-Prats will play soccer at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and Robbe Tarver will play soccer at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Both are NCAA Division III schools.
Garcia-Prats led the Jesuit soccer team in scoring with 17 goals and 10 assists. He was selected All-District and the District 18-5A MVP as well as named to the UIL All-Tournament Team for the state Championships. His brother Chris, who attended and played soccer at Strake and Trinity University in San Antonio, is the head coach at Luther. Garcia-Prats parents are Cathy and Joe Garcia-Prats.
Robbe Tarver was the starting left midfielder at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, Texas. A natural lefty, Tarver helped lead the team to the 2010 Texas UIL 5A Finals and was named to the All-Tournament Team. In his senior year, he had 10 goals and 10 assists on a well-balanced team with 14 goal-scorers, four of whom were in double-digits. He was named All-District and to the UIL All-Tournament Team. Tarver is a product of the Houston Express Soccer Club and was the leading scorer in the ’92 Navy team’s run to the 2009 President’s Cup Texas State Championship and USYS Region III semi-final appearance. Tarver’s parents are Annette and Brent Tarver.
