International Artist’s Exhibit Opens Saturday
A Houston art gallery invites people to an opening reception on Saturday that offers a chance to speak with an internationally recognized artist, Voahangy.
Marie-Voahangy Ramariavelo will meet with art lovers on Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. for the opening reception of her exhibit, “Art de Fleur.” The exhibition runs through Feb. 14 at the Green House Gallery, 716 W. Alabama St.
Described as “a feast of colors with many cultural influences,” Voahangy’s work has been featured worldwide in exhibitions in France, England, Canada, Argentina and throughout the United States, including Texas, Florida, Michigan and California. She is currently a teacher at the prestigious Awty International School in Houston.
“My painting is born of emotional and visual impact,” Voahangy said in a statement. “It reflects excess energy that flows spontaneously and intuitively on canvas in a feast of colors coordinating themselves almost unconsciously.”
