Houston Comedian To Spend 24 Hours At 24 Hour Fitness

July 15, 2010

Houston standup comedian/screen writer Bayan Rabbani will test his physical endurance by spending 24 hours in 24 Hour Fitness, 5070 Richmond Ave.

This will be the third 24 hour endeavor Rabbani has taken part of as a comedic stunt for www.Zug.com. He also spent 24 hours at a Starbucks on May 14 and spent 24 hours at a Super Walmart in January.

Rabbani, a 24-year-old University of Houston student, said the name of the fitness center, 24 Hour Fitness, was calling out as a challenge for him.

“This is probably going to be the most fun for me,” he said. “I’ve been looking forward to this.”

Rabbani will start his 24 hour stay at the fitness center at 9 p.m. on Friday and will end at 9 p.m. on Saturday.

He plans on participating in every class the fitness center offers, including yoga and spinning.

Rabbani said he wants to see how long he can sit in a sauna without passing out.

He also hopes he’ll be able to work with a trainer to see if he loses any body fat during his 24 hour workout.

Rabbani will be documenting his 24 hour workout experience via twitter.

He said he will make sure he hydrates and eats power bars during the 24 hours so he doesn’t hurt himself.

Rabbani said he usually works out five days a week so this experiment will hopefully get him the “summer body” he’s working towards.

“I’m confident it’s going to go well,” he said.
