HISD schools, offices will reopen Wednesday

April 19, 2016

Houston ISD schools and administrative offices will go back to business-as-usual on Wednesday.

After “closely monitoring the weather forecast,” HISD officials made the call Tuesday night.

Widespread, severe flooding caused the district to shut down on Monday and Tuesday. State-mandated makeup days will be May 26-27.

The only campus which suffered enough storm damage to remain closed is Liberty High School in the Sharpstown area. Families will be notified about a temporary location.

The district provides updates at www.HoustonISD.org, on an inclement weather hotline at 713-267-1704, and on Twitter @HoustonISD and on a Houston ISD Facebook page.
