Heavy Trash Day is Saturday, Oct. 25

The city of West University Place is hosting its annual heavy trash and recycling day on Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
City employees and Goodwill workers will be on hand at the West U Public Works Maintenance Facility, at 3826 Milton, to accept almost any unwanted items that may be crowding garages — from household and clothing items to heavy bricks, concrete, junk iron and lumber.
Residents disposing of any items that have freon, such as refrigerators or air conditioners, will be required to provide a certificate stating that all freon has been removed from the appliance.
The city also will be recycling E-waste, such as computers, printers, cell phone, laser and inkjet cartridges, batters and monitors, as well as mattresses.
City staff will be available to unload vehicles. Residents should approach the event from the intersection of University & College Street. No business trash will be accepted.
