Group Empowerment Drumming Event Coming to West U Senior Center
West University Place seniors have the opportunity to participate in a new group empowerment drumming program called HealthRHYTHMS.
This program is a research-based group drumming protocol with biological and pscyho-social health and wellness benefits. The Group Empowerment Drumming session will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. at the West U Senior Center, 6104 Auden.
Hosted by Cindy St. Cyr, the drumming program is a fun and creative health and wellness exercise. It doesn’t matter if you have rhythm or musical talent; the drum will do all the work for you. HealthRHYTHMS Group Empowerment Drumming isn’t about successful drumming rather the drum is used as a music-making wellness tool for physical exercise, communication, creativity, self-expression, and spirituality.
The drumming session is a great way to strengthen your immune system and improve your mood. It also burns calories, and is a great exercise in music-making while exercising brain activity.
