Four Car Windows Shot With BB Gun

The windows of four cars on Jan. 31 were shot and damaged with what police believe to be a BB gun. Three of the cars were parked in the 3900 block of Coleridge, one in the 3900 block of Swarthmore.

An officer was flagged down in the 2700 block of Cason on Jan. 26 regarding the death of a neighbor. The officer spoke with the family of the deceased, and the death was found to be of natural causes.

Bellaire police brought a suspect with West U. warrants to the West U. Police Station on Jan. 25. The suspect was taken into custody.

Around 1 a.m. Jan. 26 an officer noticed a vehicle traveling eastbound of Tangley cross Wakeforest at a high rate of speed. The officer tried to pull the driver over, but the driver continued speeding, turning north on Kirby and east on Sunset before stopping in the 2400 block of Sunset. The driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

Two residents were arrested in the 3900 block of Oberlin after a domestic disturbance call at 2:47 a.m. Jan. 26. When police arrived, both suspects were found to be intoxicated and taken to jail for public intoxication.

Around 11:13 a.m. Jan. 26 a driver was arrested in the 5900 block of Fordham for driving with a suspended license and four outstanding traffic warrants after being pulled over for a routine traffic stop.

A resident reported on Jan. 26 that an unknown person used her debt card number to get cash from an ATM machine. The card was cancelled.

At some time between 5 p.m. and 9:55 p.m. an SUV parked at a business in the 2600 block of Bissonnet was broken into and property stolen.  On Jan. 28 a car in the 6600 block of Belmont was burglarized and the owner’s purse stolen.

An e-mail scam led to the theft of a resident’s e-mail password recently. The resident responded to an unsolicited e-mail request that the account be updated by providing a password. The resident gave the password, which was then changed, locking the resident out of the account. The unknown suspect or suspects then used the e-mail account to solicit money from the resident’s associates.

An expired inspection sticker led to the arrest of a driver in the 4000 block of Amherst on Jan. 27 after the driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license.

A traffic stop in the 6200 block of Wakeforest around 10:23 p.m. Jan. 28 led to the arrest of the driver for possession of marijuana.

Around 11:51 p.m. Jan. 28, officers were called to the 4100 block of Albans in reference to a man standing in the middle of the street yelling. When police arrived, the man was ordered to stop, and was arrested for public intoxication.

On Jan. 29 officers were called to the 4100 block of Marquette around 3 p.m., where a man was sitting on the corner with his shoes and socks off. When police arrived, the man ran and was eventually arrested for evading in the 6400 block of Weslayan.

Houston police arrested a suspect with outstanding West U. warrants on Jan. 30. West U. police picked up the suspect from HPD.

The driver of a car in the 4100 block of Marquette was arrested around 1:14 a.m. Jan. 31 for possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon. The blacked out car was parked when an officer noticed the brake lights come on and off twice. When the officer approached the car, he could smell marijuana, according to reports. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of marijuana and a handgun.
