Forum At Bellaire High School Aimed At Giving Community Input On Search For New Superintendent

Bellaire High School is the scheduled venue for one of a series of forums held by the Houston Independent School District to gather input from the community on the search for the district’s new superintendent. The forum will take place at 6:30 p.m. April 27 at the school, 5100 Maple.


Current superintendent Abelardo Saavedra announced in February that he plans to step down by spring of 2010. Attendees of the forum will be asked to discuss the professional and personal characteristics that potential candidates should have for the position.

April 27, 6:30 p.m., HISD South Region Office, 4040 W. Fuqua           


April 29, 6:30 p.m., Wheatley High School, 4901 Providence 


April 30, 6:30 p.m., Washington High School, 4901 Providence         


May 4, 6:30 p.m., Revere Middle School, 10502 Briar Forest      


May 5, 6:30 p.m., Reagan High School, 413 E. 13th Street        


May 7, Deady Middle School, 2500 Broadway           


May 12, 7 p.m., Attucks Middle School, 4330 Bellfort
