First Day Of Fall Brings Cooler, Rainy Weather To West U
Most West U residents woke to the first day of fall with cooler temperatures, thunder and rainfall across most of the area.
Rain started just before dawn in western portions of Houston and quickly moved across the rest of the area, bringing a slow and soggy commute for motorists.
Forecasters say thunderstorms are likely to continue throughout the day and into mid-week.
Up to two inches of rain are expected today, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. Winds will be 5 – 10 mph from the east with an afternoon high near 85.
Winds are expected to shift to the north tomorrow with a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The afternoon high is expected to only reach 79.
A chance of rain remains in the forecast through Saturday, with highs in mid 80s and lows in the low 70s.
