Fatality, Injuries At Rice Construction Site Caused By Cinder Block Wall Collapsing During Storm

According to the latest report from Rice University, a cinder block wall collapsing during a “severe thunderstorm” is the cause of one death and seven injuries today around 4 p.m. One construction worker died, four were taken to the hospital and three were treated at the scene.

The accident occurred at McMurtry College, a 324-bed residential college at Sunset Boulevard and Rice Boulevard that is scheduled to open in the fall of 2009.
