Election Drama: West U Police Investigate Assault between Election Judges
The West U Police Department was called to the Community Center on Election Day to investigate an altercation between two election judges.
According to police reports, police were called to the 6100 block of Auden around 1:41 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31 in reference to an assault.
“Witnesses told officers that a male and female got into an argument and that the male pushed the female,” Capt. Thad Olive said in a statement. “Because both the victim and suspect were acting in their official capacity as elections judges, witness statements and police reports have been submitted to the Public Integrity Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office who will decide if charges will be filed.”
According to information obtained by InstantNewsWestU.com, a democratic election judge filed a complaint against a republican election judge for “swearing” and using “abusive language.”
