Dem. Candidate For Governor Visiting Local Rotarians

March 3, 2010

Democratic candidate for Texas Governor Bill White will visit Bellaire in mid March to speak to rotary club members about jobs, energy and education.

White won the Democratic nomination for governor in yesterday’s primary election with 76 percent of the vote. During the upcoming presentation for the Bellaire/Southwest Houston Rotary Club, White plans to reflect on the past six years as Mayor of Houston.

During his time as mayor, White led the city through Katrina and Ike recovery, and the Houston area led the nation’s cities in job growth. He previously served as Deputy Secretary of Energy of the United States, a legislative assistant to Congress in the 1970’s, and helped build and manage a successful law firm.

The rotary club meeting takes place March 18 from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the Braeburn Country Club, 8100 Bissonnet St. The cost of $15 covers lunch and the speaking event.
