Crime Report: Wallet Stolen From West U Rec. Center
At 1:00 pm, an officer observed a vehicle traveling 44 mph in a posted 30 mph speed zone southbound in the 6400 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was conducted in the 3200 block of Cason and after further investigation the driver was arrested for the offenses of driving while license invalid and for driving with an expired license. The suspect also had warrants through League City Police Department and a hold was placed.
Minor Accident/Failure to Stop and Give Information
An officer was dispatched to the WUPD lobby for a report of an accident that occurred on June 7th, 2013. The victim stated on June 7th his vehicle had been parked legally in the roadway by his housekeeper at about 4pm. The victim noticed his vehicle had sustained damage at about 5pm. The victim believes his vehicle was struck by another vehicle and the unknown person failed to stop and give information. The officer observed damage to the rear left quarter panel with white paint transfer, which is consistent with an automobile accident.
Driving While License Suspended
An officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound with a broken brake/tail light that was emitting a white light when activated in the 6400 block of WestPoint. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the 6100 block of WestPoint on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was driving on a suspended license. The driver was arrested and charged with the offense of driving while license invalid.
At 3:05 pm, an officer was dispatched to the West U recreational center in reference to a theft that had already occurred. The complainant stated an unknown person(s) removed her wallet from her purse that was located within a cabinet above her desk without her consent.
