Crime Report: Purse Stolen from Vehicle at St. Marks Episcopal

Driving while intoxicated

An officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 2800 block of University with a defective left brake light. The officer stopped the vehicle in the 6100 block of Kirby and determined that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested for DWI and booked into the West University Place Police Department jail.

Burglary of motor vehicle

An officer was dispatched to the St. Marks Episcopal school located at 3816 Bellaire in regards to a burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the victim who stated that she parked her vehicle in the school parking lot and left the area momentarily. When she returned to her vehicle she noticed that the right rear passenger window was smashed. The victim stated that her purse was taken from inside her vehicle without her consent.

Warrant Arrest

At 9:06 am, an officer was dispatched to the parking lot of Ikea on i10 and Silber in reference to meet an Memorial Villages Police Officer with a subject he had in custody with two warrants with the City of West University. The individual was placed in custody and transported to the west university place police department without incident.

Burglary of habitation

An officer was dispatched to the 3100 Block of Amherst to meet with complainants in reference to a burglary of a habitation that had already occurred. Officers arrived and met with the complainants who advised that an unknown person(s) had entered into the residence. The complainant stated that some personal items were missing from the residence. Officers obtained the complainants information and filed a report on the incident.

Driving while intoxicated

An officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound at 38 MPH in a 30 MPH speed zone in the 6400 block of Buffalo Speedway. The Officer initiated a traffic stop in the 6200 Block of Buffalo Speedway on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and charged with the offense of DWI.
