Crime Report: Police Arrest Truck-full of Car Burglary Suspects
Burglary of motor vehicle
At 12:51 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Bissonnet, in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. The victim’s rear window to his vehicle was broken and an empty military ammunition can was taken. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
Minor Accident/ Failure to stop and give information
At 9:22 am, an officer was dispatched to 4000 Bellaire for a minor accident/failure to stop and give information, that had occurred in the parking lot of whole foods. No suspects were found at this time.
Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
At 2:56 PM, WUPD dispatch received a phone call from St. Andrew’s Children’s Place in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that just occurred. The caller described the suspects as 2 black males in a blue Ford F-150. The suspects fled and were last seen eastbound on Bissonnet. WUPD dispatch notified officers at 2:57 PM. At 3:04 PM, officers located a truck matching the description given by the caller at 59//Kirby at the Shell Gas Station. Officers approached the vehicle at gun point. The suspects were in WUPD’s custody at 3:06 PM. The suspects in this case have a combined total of 28 prior arrests with the offenses including: assault, burglary, forgery, larceny, drug possession, evading, DWI and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Possession of narcotics
At 9:02 p.m., an officer observed a truck stopped at the red light in the 5600 block of Weslayan facing that displayed defective equipment. A traffic stop on the vehicle was conducted for the violation. Upon approach to the vehicle the officer could smell the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Upon search of the vehicle and subjects, marijuana and several pills were located. Subsequently the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody for possession of controlled substance, and the passenger was taken into custody for possession of controlled substance and tampering with evidence.
Officer were dispatched to the 2600 block of Bissonnet in reference to a disturbance. Officers arrived and met with the victim who stated that the suspect was observed urinating in the front of his business in view of other customers. The suspect was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct – Urinating in public.
