Crime Report: Passenger Refuses to Pay Cab Driver on Kirby

Burglary Vehicle

At 9:43 A.M., an officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Albans for a report of a burglary of a motor vehicle. On arrival, the officer spoke with the victim, who said that between 8:00 pm on 3-21-13 and 9:30 am on 3-22-13, unknown persons entered her vehicle and removed items without her permission.

Warrant Arrest

At 1:00 P.M., an officer was dispatched to 3800 block of Mykawa, the Houston Police southeast jail, to pick up a subject who had two outstanding warrants with the City of West University Place. The officer took custody of the subject and his property and transported him to the West University Place jail where he was booked in on the two warrants without incident.

Telephone Harassment

At 3:02 P.M., an officer was dispatched to 3800 University in reference to a telephone harassment call. The victim stated that a known male continues to contact her via cellular phone and text messaging after she advised him to stop contacting her.

Computer Breach of Security

At  8:39 P.M., an officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Quenby in reference to a breach of computer security. The complainant stated an unknown person contacted him via phone and persuaded him to allow access to his computer in order to remove supposed viruses.

Found Property

At 10:05 P.M., an officer was dispatched to 6600 block of Vanderbilt for a report of found property. A resident found a kitchen knife in the city easement at the curbside in the northwest corner of the 6600 block of Vanderbilt. The kitchen knife was recovered, and brought to the police station.

Public Intoxication

At 1:32 A.M., an officer was dispatched to the 5800 block of Kirby for a disturbance in progress call. Dispatch advised that the driver of a taxi was reporting that a subject was refusing to pay his fare. Officers arrived in the area and located a white male walking on the sidewalk. Officers made contact with the subject and after further investigation it was determined that the subject was intoxicated. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and transported to West University Place jail.
