Crime Report: Man Receives ‘Threatening’ Texts on Cell Phone

Burglary of Habitation

An officer was dispatched to the 2900 block of Tangley in reference to a theft that had already occurred. The complainant stated that an unknown person(s) removed a golf club bag containing golf clubs without their consent from the unsecured garage.


Terroristic Threats

An officer was dispatched to the West U police station in regards to terroristic threats. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the victim who stated an unknown person(s) with an unrecognized number sent threatening text messages to his personal cell phone on 03/07/13, at 7:17pm. The officer gathered the necessary information and this case is currently being investigated.


Driving While License Suspended

At 10:37 pm, an officer observed a vehicle with defective equipment, namely no license plate light, and with expired registration traveling westbound in the 3300 block of Robinhood. A traffic stop was conducted on that vehicle in the 3200 block of Albans. It was discovered that the driver had a suspended driver’s license and was unable to provide proof of financial responsibility. The driver was arrested for driving while license invalid.


Driving While Intoxicated

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the 5700 block of Buffalo Speedway without license plate lights. The officer initiated a traffic stop and upon further investigation discovered that the operator of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. The operator was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
