Crime Report: Lawn Service Truck and Trailer Stolen Outside Home on Amherst
At 7:53am an officer was dispatched to the West U PD. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the victim who stated that an unknown person(s) attempted to open multiple credit card accounts using his full name, date of birth, and social security number. The victim became aware of this when he received a notification letter from discover credit card services on 05/01/2013 at 4:00pm.
Fail to ID
At 8:38 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the 4100 block of Bissonnet without a license plate attached to the front of the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the 4200 block of Bissonnet and the driver identified himself, but was it was discovered that the name and date of birth given was false. After further investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for the offense of failure to identify.
Theft of Vehicle
At 10:32am, an officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Amherst for a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the victim who stated that an unknown person(s) took his vehicle with his trailer attached to it without his consent. The victim stated he parked his vehicle on the roadway near the curb on 05/02/2013, at 10:19am. The victim stated he and his lawn crew left the area momentarily to work at a residence located in the 6100 block of Kirby. The victim returned to his vehicle on 05/02/2013, at 10:27am, and noticed that the vehicle and the trailer were missing. The victim stated that the keys to the vehicle were left inside the vehicle prior to this incident.
An officer was dispatched to the WUPD to meet with an officer from the Houston Police Department. Who had a subject in custody for an active warrant with WUPD . The officer took custody of the subject and his property and booked him into the jail facility without incident.
